Chalkboard Paint Also Looks Fun
Note: we are not offering an opinion on these chalk products. We haven’t used them. We just think they look like fun. Chalkboard paint? Sure, why not? Still, Caveat Buyor and all that.
This 8-ounce jar currently sells for under 10 bucks on Amazon.

Chalkboard Contact Paper Looks Fun
Saw this chalkboard contact paper while looking for something else on Amazon. 6 feet for about 10 bucks. I’ve never used it, but it sounds like something one could have fun with.

Amazon Prime 30-Day Free Trial Offer
You know what’s fun to do when it’s really hot outside? Sit inside with the A/C on and watch TV. You know what’s a good way to watch TV? Amazon Prime.
(This is an air conditioner. It makes your room colder.)
This is obviously a “click this link to try out Amazon Prime for 30 days for free” thing. That said, I use Amazon Prime and it’s really cool. The free shipping is nice, but the TV and movie library is very deep. There are even some titles that Netflix doesn’t have (and vice versa).
The bottom line is that you can try out Amazon Prime for free. What’s bad about that? Nothing. So here you go.

What have I watched on Amazon Prime? Bionic Woman.

No Six Million Dollar Man, but maybe someday.
Amazon Prime also has Downton Abbey. So you get stuff both nerdy and semi-highbrow.
It’s free for 30 days! Give it a try.
Free Digital Superman Comic From Amazon – UPDATED
Amazon is offering a free Superman Digital Comic when you sign up for the Amazon Comics Newsletter. Click the link below for details. Limited time only, disclaimer disclaimer disclaimer.

UPDATE: I did it. Signed up for the Amazon Comics Newsletter. Received a “code for a Free Download of Superman No. 1” via email, clicked the link, entered the code, and look, on my screen, it’s not a bird, it’s not a plane, it’s a digital Superman comic, which in this case means this particular issue of Superman from 2011. (Just so you know what you’re getting for free.)
Amazon would like you to read comics on a Kindle Fire, but if you don’t have one you can read the issue in a web browser. I think you can read it on the old school Kindle but I’ve never tried and it won’t be in color, of course. (Great Rao, I said “old school Kindle“.) When I checked out, no mention was made of reading Kindle comics using the Kindle app on an Android device. Nor is there any mention made of reading them on an iPhone or iPad.
Anyway, I got my free comic. Or more accurately received a license to read said comic digitally. Was granted a license to read the comic? Something like that. Only Jor-El knows for sure. If you want your freebie, click the link below.

Buy Mike Adamick’s Awesome Book of Awesomeness
So is it fair for me to call a book awesome if I haven’t read it? Can I tell you to buy Mike Adamick‘s book, Dad’s Book of Awesome Projects, simply because I think Mike himself is awesome?
Of course I can.
Mike Adamick is a dad and a writer. I guess he’s a SAHD WAHD like myself, although I don’t like to bestow that acronym upon anyone other than myself because of the way it sounds when you say it out loud. (Try it, I’ll wait.) Anyway, I know Mike from way back when we both wrote for Babble at the same time (he was there first).
The full title of Mike’s book is Dad’s Book of Awesome Projects: From Stilts and Super-Hero Capes to Tinker Boxes and Seesaws, 25+ Fun Do-It-Yourself Projects for Families.
Here’s a bit of the description from Amazon:
This book shows you and your kids how to build:
– Comic book shoes
– Rope swings
– Homemade goo slime
– Eggshell cupcakes
– Ol’-fashioned fruit crate scooter
Dude, you had me at “goo slime,” but only because I saw that before I saw “comic book shoes.” I don’t even know what comic book shoes are but I want to make them.
Anyway, I’m buying a copy. You should too.
What? You’re still here? Go get it already!
Oh, and visit MikeAdamick.com.
