Brad Pitt Stops A Kid From Getting Crushed By Fans (Video)
This is kinda nice. Brad Pitt stops a kid from getting crushed by fans in Spain, or to use the lingua franca of the place where it happened, “Brad Pitt rescata a niña en rodaje de Allied”. Allied is the movie Mr. Pitt was filming, and he took a break in order to say hello to a crowd. More specifically, he waved at a rather large group of people who were clearly REALLY stoked to see him.
But perhaps they were a little bit too stoked. According to the story, and the video backs this up, a little girl was being crushed against the fence. Mr. Pitt saw this and had his bodyguards pick her up and pull her out of the crowd, then comforted her until medical staff arrived. Here’s the video.
I think this is an example of how having kids changes a person. Not that I don’t think Mr. Pitt would have done this before becoming a dad. But the behavior, to my eye, looks very parental. There are things that become instinctual after you have children of your own. In this case, that was a good thing.

Watch this video about a 12-year-old girl who ran a half-marathon by accident and feel like a marshmallow. Well, that’s how it made me feel.
Also proud of the kid. 13.1 miles is impressive enough, but to run that far when you had only trained to run 5 miles is… well, dang. Watch here:

Sick Selfies App To Encourage Vaccinations
An man in Albuquerque, New Mexico is working on a sick selfies app to encourage vaccinations.

Here’s how the app works. You take a selfie or a photo of a friend. You can then select the photo and adjust it through the app so that your face is framed up. Then comes the part that’s supposed to get you thinking- you can give yourself measles or small pox, the only disease that’s been eradicated in the wild.

Creepy? Maybe. OK, definitely. The comments on the story are equally creepy though:
How sick! Vaccination is an organised [sic] criminal enterprise dressed up as disease prevention by means of junk science.
Yeah. Because that’s true. #sarcasm
The app does seem like a weird way to get parents to vaccinate their kids. But as the comment above shows, anti-vaccination folks are a tough crowd to convince.
On a related note, I may have to start checking the news in Albuquerque for weird stories. It’s no Florida, but only because nothing — NOTHING — compares to Florida when it comes to wild and wacky stories. But Albuquerque could have items worth posting. I found this “sick selfies app” story because of the bikers who helped a 5-year-old girl when she was bullied.

Police Called Because Of Stuffed Tiger
There really isn’t anything to say about this beyond what I clipped below:
