Electric Menorah on SomaFM – Chanukah Music

Chanukah is here, and that means you should be listening to Electric Menorah on SomaFM. Specifically their NSFW Xmas in Frisco channel.

They play our music every Chanukah. Here’s proof:

See? It’s on Twitter. To listen to the channel (which is great, but sometimes plays songs with dirty words so be careful when listening at work or with kids in the room), click here. They have a lot of other good stations as well, but Xmas in Frisco is the only one that plays Electric Menorah ever year.

Anyway, here’s the point. We want to be on the charts. Last year Chanucore, our Chanukah EP, made it into the top 10 “Playlist Adds”. On the last night of Chanukah 2013, Electric Menorah was the 15th most popular artist.

In fact, just now, while we were listening to the station (we liked it before they added Electric Menorah to the rotation), they played Oh Chanuqa Bush.

This is our way of encouraging you to listen as well, and click links and share on social media and whatever else it is the kids are doing these days.

Happy Chanukah! (We’ll wish you a Merry Christmas when the time comes.)

DaddyTips Comment 12-16-14 (Video)

Here it is, DaddyTips second semi-daily video commentary. On this day, 12-16-14, we talk about Hobbits and Hanukkah.

DaddyTips Featured Video

By the way, for those playing along at home — we shaved!

Thanks for watching. Once again, please let us know what you think, publicly or even privately if you prefer.

Here are the links mentioned in the video.

Xmas in Frisco, the terrific Internet Radio station that has been playing Electric Menorah songs during Chanukah for the past… 10 years? Is that possible? I think it’s been 10 years. Many thanks to them. Note: the station is not safe for work listening (depending upon where you work, of course) because sometimes they play songs with dirty words in them.  Anyway, here’s the link: somafm.com/xmasinfrisko (They have other good stations as well, but this is the only one that plays our music.)

The Hobbit: Book and Film Differences is a really great blog that delivers exactly what the title describes – the differences between The Hobbit films and The Hobbit book. Note that I said “films” and “book”. There’s only one book but there are three films. Have I mentioned that? I’ve actually really enjoyed reading this site, written by someone who goes by the handle Quoggy. Well worth checking out if you have even a passing interest in the subject matter. Here’s the link: hobbitdifferences.blogspot.com

Last, but certainly not least, make sure to go to facebook.com/brettmusic and click the button that says “Like”. That way we’ll know that you like us, you really really like us.

Happy Hobbit Hanukkah!

Happy Chanukah And a Jewish NFL Player

DaddyTips wishes everyone a Happy Chanukah, and also offers these Tweets from and about a Jewish NFL player, the New England Patriots‘ Julian Edelman. Also some videos showing that the dude can play.

Edelman had a big week for the Pats this past week, accounting for two of the team’s touchdowns. We should have predicted this because we dropped him in our fantasy football league. (Sorry Mr. Edelman, it’s nothing personal. Or maybe we shouldn’t apologize. Any player we drop in fantasy football tends to be successful on the field immediately after said droppage. Not that we think we control the sports universe or anything. It’s just something we’ve noticed.)

Moving away from Edelman’s real football success (and our fantasy football failures), here is a tweet from the Patriots’ wide receiver, who spent some time being charitable recently.

And here are two tweets that Mr. Edelman re-tweeted, including one in which Happy Chanukah wishes are offered.

There aren’t a ton of Jewish NFL players, not because of a conspiracy or anything, there simply aren’t a lot of Jewish football players in general as far as we know.

Edelman, for what it’s worth, is a player that we’ve always liked. Plays well, plays hard, gets the job done. Here is a video of Edelman returning a punt 94 yards for a touchdown back in 2011.

And here is a video of Edelman blocking, delivering a rather serious hit to an opposing player.

Makes me want to watch some football. Oh! Tomorrow is Thanksgiving! Chanukah being so frickin’ early this year just became more OK.

Happy Chanukah from DaddyTips!
