Ghostbusters Daddy Issues
‘Ghostbusters: Afterlife’ director Jason Reitman used his ‘complicated’ relationship with his father to take on the franchise he’s avoided his whole life
It must be nice to work out your issues publicly like this. I guess I do that too with my standup. I haven’t done much about my dad yet but I’m working on it.

Stop Sending Robin Williams Impression Video To Zelda Williams
I can’t believe we have to say this but stop sending the Robin Williams impression video to Zelda Williams.
Guys, I’m only saying this because I don’t think it’ll stop until I acknowledge it… please, stop sending me the ‘test footage’. I’ve seen it. Jamie is SUPER talented, this isn’t against him, but y’all spamming me an impression of my late Dad on one of his saddest days is weird.

Weird? Hell yeah. It’s an amazing impression but come on. Sending it to his daughter is just mean. And weird. Did we mention weird?
I’m forced to think about my dad every time I see a TV show or movie with daddy issues and that’s pretty often because I love superhero stuff. My dad was not famous. And Robin Williams wasn’t just famous, he was mega famous. He’s everywhere. So she has to think about her dad, who died in a terrible way, constantly. “Spamming” the video to her is cruel. Cut it out.

Superman, Batman and Lex Luthor Daddy Issues
From Zack Snyder, talking about Batman v Superman, which was a ridiculous movie but I thought this bit was interesting. Emphasis added:
While Luthor is often used as a parallel to Superman, Snyder was interested in showcasing the parallels between Lex and Bruce as well. All three men are fixated on their fathers, and have maintained tombs in their memory. Lex took his father’s study and built a new house around it, and maintained its upkeep so that nothing fell out of place. Bruce held onto Wayne Manor, but let it fall into decay. And Superman keeps the memory of both fathers, Jonathan and Jor-El, as a part of his deeds and Kryptonian suit,
I never thought about it but this all makes sense. Batman is fixated on both parents, but it’s always about the dad. Superman barely mentions his mother. Luthor I never thought about, but again, it makes sense.
Someone told me “Men don’t have daddy issues” and I said “oh please.” Even superheroes have them! Maybe especially superheroes.

Thor Daddy Issues
If you really want to scare Thor, threaten to call his All-Father on him.
Son of Thanos Has Major Daddy Issues
If you are the son of Thanos, it would make sense that you would have some serious Daddy Issues. (Thanos, aka “who is the purple guy at the end of the avengers movie“, still a popular Google Search autocomplete. He also appeared in “Guardians of the Galaxy“, but it wasn’t as cool it could have been. “Guardians” was a great movie, lots of fun, go see it. Thanos could’ve been scarier though. Now back to the point.)
Here is the description for a new comic book featuring Thane, son of Thanos.
At the close of INFINITY, Thane discovered he was the son of Thanos and that his touch was death.
Now, accompanied by the constantly whispered advice of the Ebony Maw, he wants to discover his father’s history, and his own future.
In other words, Thane (whoever that is) was unaware that (a) he was the son of Thanos, the mad Titan who wants to kill every living being in the universe in order to impress Death because he’s in love with her (yes, really — remember, comic books) and (b) when he touches people they die. (Which I suppose would make him pretty popular with dear old Dad.) Now he knows (a) and (b). That’s just… blech.
So yeah. Like I said. Daddy Issues.
