Get Your Kid a Robotic T. Rex
Neat little item from Amazon. The Robotic T. Rex book, only $14.00.
Description:
Real robots have been around for more than half a century and used for a variety of purposes. Some dinosaur robots are at the cutting edge of robot research. For years, experimental dinobots have been helping scientists and engineers test out different ways of walking. This “rexbot” will have two legs for walking and a tail to keep it balanced, just like the real T. Rex. Also in existence is Banryu, a real working dinosaur robot. This Japanese robot is about as big as a medium-size dog and is able to patrol the house like a guard dog and using its infrared sensors that can listen for noises and sniff for smoke. From fossil bones in museums to special-effects monsters in movies, T. Rex is probably the most well-known and fascinating dinosaur of all. This all-encompassing, full-color illustrated book gives kids an up-close learning experience and the chance to build their own walking T. Rex!

- GM is pulling their sponsorship of the Buick Open. This is a big deal for the PGA Tour. If I cared more about golf, this would bother me. (ESPN)
- Michael Jackson may have some other son as a result of a one-night stand. The least believable part of this story is the part about Michael Jackson having a one-night stand with a woman. Sorry about that. The Sun has video of the kid, Omer Bhatt, who at 25 years old isn’t a kid anymore. They say he has an “uncanny resemblance” to Michael Jackson. The fact that he’s moonwalking while wearing a costume and hairstyle that is remniscent of Jackson helps the uncaniness. If this is all a money grab, I’d say it’s quite canny, actually. (The Sun)
- A father in Iran was arrested for mourning his son, who was shot during a riot in Tehran. Awful. (L.A. Times)
Full Episodes of Japanese Spiderman Series
This is weird, but also kind of fun.
Marvel.com has full episodes of the Japanese Spiderman series. As the song in the intro says, “Yeah Yeah Yeah WOW!”
Here’s a sample episode:
You can watch tons more, including “The Hero’s Shining Hot Blood” (which as far as I know is not X-rated) at Marvel’s Japanese Spiderman Movie Hub. They have English subtitles, but they don’t make a lot of sense. I mean, they do, but not really. It’s fun stuff, though.

- Hey. Dude who thinks he's in the Indy 500. You're in a mini van. Stop weaving in and out of lanes. #
- What happened to Fiona Apple? She was pretty good. Maybe she'd like to write a song about the recession. #
- nothing against state troopers but those park ranger hats? Kinda silly looking. #
- Oh, and you? Douchey McDoucherson? You're not in a minivan but you're still driving like a maniac. 100 MPH on the highway? Cut it out. #

Discount at The Shelving Store
As any stay at home dad knows, you sometimes develop womanly tendencies. I don’t mean breasts, although, hey, it could happen. I mean getting excited about things that you never knew existed. Things like a sale at The Shelving Store.
It goes something like this:
“A sale at The Shelving Store? Well we need more shelves in Johnny’s closet. If I had more shelves I could organize his closet much more efficiently. So a sale? On SHELVING? Is this my lucky day or what?”
Definitely “or what.” If you’ll excuse me, I need to go visit a strip club and then shoot a wild animal. Right after I place my order for new shelves. Family first.
Show and Tell – Hanoi Jane’s Hot Mug Shot
Say what you will about Jane Fonda, but she was a nice looking woman in her day. Even after being arrested. There’s something very sexy about this mug shot from 1970. To see Jane in her prime, though, pick up “Barbarella“; click here for a video clip. (Stylelist)
