DJ Claims Charles Manson is his Father
Los Angeles DJ Matthew Roberts says that his mother recently informed him that his father was Charles Manson, according to a story in The Sun. From About.com’s Weird News blog:
Matthew Roberts…says Charles Manson raped his mother during a drug-fueled orgy in 1967, two years before his cult “family” carried out the notorious Helter Skelter murders…Then, shortly after his birth, she put him up for adoption.
Roberts says he tracked down his real mother, who at first didn’t tell him his father was Manson, who has been living in prison since 1969. When she told him the truth, Roberts wrote to the lunatic in prison — who has since sent him a series of rambling letters that confirm the story, according to the Sun.
The letters Manson sent include fatherly gems such as “The truth is the truth. The truth hurts,” and “You got the same father I got. A hobo just left on the midnight train and died, lost at sea,” according to The Sun.
Roberts told The Sun that “he now battles confused emotions” regarding Charles Manson. In one quote he refers to the maniac as “Charlie,” saying that because Manson is his biological father, he “can’t help but have some kind of emotional connection. That’s the hardest thing of all – feeling love for a monster who raped my mother. I don’t want to love him, but I don’t want to hate him either.”
A commenter named Doris at About.com writes the following: “Matthew Roberts’ real parents are the people who raised him – his adoptive parents. Manson is his birth father.” Interesting point. Roberts may want to take that advice. Getting involved with a guy like Manson is probably a recipe for disaster, even if you are related.
