Marvel Buy One Get One Free Sale at Comixology

Oh snap. Big sale on Marvel comics. From now until Sunday, April 24th at 11:59 PM EST (West Coast readers take note), there is a Marvel Buy One Get One Free Sale at Comixology. Digital comics, folks. Such a deal!

Marvel Buy One Get One Free Sale

The sale includes not only individual issues but also collections, which is kind of awesome. In fact, it also includes Marvel MAX titles, such as Alias, the comic that introduced Jessica Jones.

Schmendrick that I am, I already bought all of the Alias collections after watching the Jessica Jones Netflix series. But if you haven’t done that, and you want to read the Marvel comics that inspired the TV show, you can do that now and save yourself some money.

Instructions should be on the Comixology page, but I’ve been told by a little bird (OK, by a PR person from Comixology) that all you need to do is “enter the code MARVEL at checkout on comixology.com.” Also: “This offer does not apply to Marvel bundles or pre-orders and can only be redeemed on comixology.com.” Get it? Got it? Good. Happy shopping.

The usual disclaimers — DaddyTips.com is not responsible for anything regarding your experience with this deal. We are simply repeating what we were told via email, and what it says on Comixology’s web site.

A brief word about digital comics — I’ve embraced them because I have no room for more stuff. I still buy comic books weekly, for myself and for my kids. And I still love reading physical comic books, both individual issues and trade paperbacks. But… I have no room. And the digital thing is so damn easy. Is there any resale value? Of course not. It’s a digital file. But if you’re willing to buy a movie, TV show, book, or other form of entertainment digitally (and you know you are, at least most of you) you should consider adding digital comics to your diet of media consumption. Also, there’s a sale. We like sales.

Happy reading. Avanti!

Amazon Kindle Trade-In

Got an old Kindle, working or not? Amazon will take it. Welcome to the Amazon Kindle Trade-In.

They might only give you a few bucks for it, but Amazon will take your old Kindle off your hands and give you a credit towards a brand-new Kindle.

1st Gen Kindle Trade-in

Yes, even if you have a 1st Gen Kindle (remember when that was introduced and it was, like, all expensive and stuff?), Amazon will give you five dollars for it, working or not. Hey, it beats throwing it in a landfill, or a poke in the eye.

You get an Amazon Gift Card and a $20 bonus towards the purchase of a new Kindle. Details at the link. Limited time offer, read the fine print, do your homework, be a smart shopper, and hey — let’s be careful out there.

$100 iTunes Code For $80

Black Friday 2015 has come and gone but there are still deals to be found.

Like this one I just stumbled across on eBay — a $100 iTunes Code for $80.

$100 iTunes Code for $80

$100 iTunes Code for only $80 – Email Delivery in Gift Cards & Coupons, Digital Gifts | eBay

Yes, I’m suspicious as well. But the source is, according to the eBay page I’m looking at right now, PayPal Digital Gifts. eBay owns PayPal. So, you know, there’s that. So why would Apple let them sell $100 iTunes Gift Cards for $80, which is literally like getting free money? (Assuming you want to spend that money in the iTunes store.) I have no idea. Caveat buyor, as we say. But this appears to be legit.

One thing from the comments — you may not get the code right away. This comment amused me: “The description says delivered within minutes. I guess the definition of minutes is loose because technically a year is 525600 minutes…” (Cue Seasons Of Love from Rent.)

To be fair, the item description does say that it could take “up to 24 hours” for the code to show up in your email Inbox. BUT the intro text does say, “Delivered in minutes (Exceptions apply)”. As of this writing, they’ve sold 142 codes in the past hour. Hit the link below for the deal. And happy Thanksgiving!

Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron 2-Disc BD Combo Pack Pre-Order

Marvel’s Avengers: Age of Ultron. You saw it. (At least you did if you live in my house.) You loved it. Maybe not as much as you loved The Avengers (the first one), but that’s not a big shocker because the first one was awesome and tough to top. Now the 2-Disc Blu-Ray Combo Pack is available from Amazon for pre-order. I’m going to pre-order it, because, well, I love me some comic book movies.

BUT! I won’t get it until October 2, 2015. #FirstWorldProblems

I can’t quite tell, but I think if I want to pay $19.99 NOW I can get the movie in HD *immediately*; SD (standard definition) is available on October 2, like the discs.

Can I wait a month? Of course. Do I *want* to wait a month? No. I want to watch the movie again NOW.
