Thwipster, the awesome site that cooks up discounts on important stuff like comic books, is offering KAPOW! for 99 cents or $2.99. What’s the difference? 99 cents (regular price is $1.99; you save 50%) gets you the SD version; SD means “standard-definition”, which in this case means the app is made for an iPhone/iPod Touch size screen. $2.99 (regular price is $3.99; you save 25%) is for HD, but not the same HD as HDTV. It does indeed mean “high-definition”, but in truth it’s just highER definition, or a sized for an iPad screen. You can play the SD version on the iPad and blow it up to 2x normal size, it’ll just be pixelated.
Phew! Did you follow that? Excelsior! If not, no worries. You don’t need to know any of that in order to play the game. Remember, KAPOW! is an iOS game; the quipsters at Thwipster put it thusly:
Not available for Windows Phone.
Than again, what is?
