Rolling Stones sign long-term deal
You know how its hard to get life insurance if you’re, say, 70 years old? I guess that doesn’t apply to music.
The Rolling Stones just signed a “long-term deal” with Universal Music, dissing EMI, their current (now former) label.
Universal also gets rights to the Stones’ back catalog, which makes sense since nobody buys the new albums. I just like the “long-term” aspect. How much longer can these guys keep playing? “Hope I die before I get old” – uh-uh.
To be fair, they are still a huge concert draw, and I’m sure the old records sell, even if the new ones don’t.
